La Posada Providencia Featured on NPR's Morning Edition
Congratulations to sponsored ministry La Posada Providencia on its recent appearance on National Public Radio's Morning Edition!
La Posada Providencia released the following information on March 20, 2014.
(SAN BENITO, TEXAS) La Posada Providencia, a shelter for immigrants, asylees and asylum seekers in the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas, was spotlighted this morning on National Public Radio.
The show, Morning Edition, with its host Steve Inskeep, featured La Posada as part of the show's series of stories along the U.S.-Mexico border.
The story focuses on the perilous journey people from around the world embark upon from their homelands to reach the U.S., and the role the shelter plays in the grand scheme of their journey.
"This is a huge honor for La Posada," said Program Director Sister Zita Telkamp. "It is great to know that our program and our mission is now on the national spotlight. Our clients have incredible stories of courage and resilience that the rest of the country must hear."
The staff of La Posada Providencia would like to thank NPR, the Morning Edition staff and Steve Inskeep for reaching out to us during their journey and airing such a fantastic piece about the shelter.
God bless you on your journey.
