Myra Rodgers, CDP, named Interim President of Sacred Heart School

The Sisters of Divine Providence announce that Sister Myra Rodgers, CDP, will serve as Interim President of Sacred Heart School in Kingston, Massachusetts. Sacred Heart was founded in 1947 by the Sisters of Divine Providence as a private, Catholic, co-educational school for students from kindergarten through grade 12. Sister Myra, currently the Administrator of Providence House in Kingston, Massachusetts, and the Director of Mission Effectiveness for the Sisters of Divine Providence, is a board member of Sacred Heart School since 2012.

“During the past four years, Sister Myra has been committed to collaboration with the board and the administration, as well as with the faculty and staff of Sacred Heart. Through presentations and many meetings, she has sought to deepen their understanding of the school's mission and history, as well as to assure the ongoing commitment of the Sisters of Divine Providence to the future of Sacred Heart School,” said Sister Mary Francis Fletcher, Provincial of the Sisters of Divine Providence throughout the U.S. and Caribbean, of Sister Myra's unique gifts and qualifications to assume the responsibilities of Interim President for Sacred Heart.

A staunch supporter of Catholic education and advocate for excellence in education, Sister Myra's previous ministries include teaching in numerous Catholic schools in Pittsburgh and serving with La Roche College as a member of the board of trustees; director of campus ministry; and adjunct instructor of religious studies. Sister Myra also served as General Superior of the Sisters of Divine Providence, leading the process of unifying the congregation’s three German provinces into one and three American provinces and the region of Puerto Rico into one.
